This comic began as an attempt to portray how females view me, as if I'm some partially deformed zombie with a look of fear bordering on malice on my face. When scripting this piece, I changed the dialogue to second person, since the narrator (Jake) is speaking to both Daniel and the audience. In speaking to Dan, Jake points out the parallels between himself and Dan, highlighting that both characters are part of the same pool of social rejects, isolated by their differences and angry at the world at large. In speaking to the audience, Jake is assuming that you have some quality that isolates you. Is this a universal truth? You tell me.
