This has to be one of my favorite comics this season. It perfectly balances my aggressive pessimism with my in-yer-face humor. That's the value of the Dan character, in case you missed it; he's three-dimensional, angry, frustrated, and profoundly morose. Because he knows that life sucks, and there's nothing that's going to change that fact.
BTW, a platitude is a "trite, meaningless, biased, or prosaic statement that is presented as if it were significant and original." Kind of a derogatory reference to a cliché. Initally, I had scripted the female to say something in this vein, but I hated the way it sounded, like some pseudo-intellectual ASSHOLE saying something that means nothing and SHOVING IT DOWN MY THROAT... THAT FUCK! FUCK 'EM! Slingin' bullshit, and making you feel like nothing when you know GOD DAMNED WELL that their life is just as meaningless as your own. Fuckin' ass.
Oh yeah, and download Firefox, fer chrissakes. I'm sick of dealing with Bill Gates and his SHIT! Fuckin' asshole just took a shit all over everything, and everyone's rubbing themselves in it.
